A bit about me

I wholeheartedly believe I was put on this Earth to produce art and be creative. Growing up on a cattle farm in central Queensland, I had plenty of time to observe animals and draw them. I had countless sketchbooks full of horses, cattle, dogs and chickens!

I took art in high school and discovered a love of drawing and painting people and this continued at Art College. I majored in Graphic Design and have been working as a Designer ever since – I currently run my design business {DESIGNWARD}

I continued learning through various life drawing and painting courses at Art Est Art School, Leichhardt, Sydney Community College, Art House Sydney, Hazelhurst Art Gallery and Centre for Continuing Education.

My painting took a bit of back seat when I had children, we tried, but by the time I set them up, it was time to pack back up – the below painting of my captain America never got finished, I grew to love that version of it!

In 2021 and 2022, I attended Portrait classes at Art Est. Art School, Leichhardt and Last year I was lucky enough to attend a 5 day portrait painting retreat – Italy Art Escape in Tuscany. I currently paint at Hazelhurst Art Gallery on a weekly basis.

My kids have been very gracious models over the years and I hope they’ll pose for a few more portraits yet!
